Seely Patent Mashie with Original Spalding Gold Medal Shaft

Club head and shaft are held together with  two steel 'tangs' in place of the normal hosel. This fork construction head made it easier for the golfer to "cut" shots. Club is circa 1916 and is in great shape with the original shaft stamp from Spalding . Great club. This lot comes from the Original estate of John Arthur Brown. Brown was the president of Pine Valley Golf club from 1928 until his death in 1977. His collection was amassed over decades of collecting only the best of the best in golf memorabilia. Enjoy this great piece of golf memorabilia from a legendary club administrator, representing the USA's most famed course.
