Scottsdale PING Anser Putter Signed by Gary Player Circa 1966-67 - Rare
Presented here is a Scottsdale Ping Anser Gary Player signature model putter signed by Gary Player. These were made for international distribution to South Africa, Player's home. By hollowing out the center and cutting two slots in the bottom of the putter head, Karsten Solheim redistributed the weight to the heel and toe, and not the center of the block. Almost all modern day putters were derived from Solheim's vision. Even though they were not as visually appealing or as flashy as other clubs available, the technology of Solheim's designs was heads above the rest. This club comes in excellent condition and is signed by Gary Player on the face. His signature is stamped on the heel as well. The back stamp reads "US Pat 202,715 & 203,512 - Ping Golf Club, P.O. Box 1345 Scottsdale Ariz - Made in USA, Other Pat Pend." A red Golf Pride grip is also present. This is a great opportunity to own a rare Ping putter.
James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed the signature and their auction letter of authenticity will come with this lot.
