Sam Snead Head Sketch & Putting Golf Stance Signed by Artist J. McQueen - Framed

Here is an original pencil and watercolor piece of Sam Snead by the famed artist Jim McQueen. McQueen has known for doing countless depictions of Jack Nicklaus and his blonde hair while teaming up with Jack in the books “My Golden Lessons” and “Golf My Way,” among others. If his style looks familiar it also could be from the hundreds of Golf Digest magazines he did artwork for during his 30 years on the staff. In this piece on the left he drew a detailed closeup of a middle-aged Sam Snead his customary straw hat with a watercolor action photo of him following through on a putt. The image is 12" H x 9" W and after framing and matting it comes out to 19" H x 16" W. The drawing/ painting combination is in excellent condition and if you look at it closely you can see the attention to detail that McQueen displayed from the hairs on Snead’s eyebrows to the spots on his hat. This relic of competition at golfs highest level comes directly from the PGA where it has resided for over 75 years. This auction will end at 9:00pm EST Sunday, April 14th, with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval)

1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
