Robert T. Jones, Jr. Cut Signature JSA ALOA

A vintage signature from the great Bobby Jones, signing 'Robert T. Jones, Jr.,' is offered on this 3 1/2" x 2" cut. Sure to draw heavy interest from bidders, this signature comes from Jones' earlier days in the 1920s-1930s when he signed as Robert T. Jones, Jr. This signed cut has a slight crease in the center, but still presents very well. The signature is a perfect example of an early Bobby Jones autograph. The reverse side of the signed cut has 'Famous Golfer' with an 'X' written by hand. Bobby Jones is known as the greatest amateur golfer to compete at a national and international level, winning five U.S. Amateur Tournaments (1924, 1925, 1927, 1928, 1930) and the British Amateur in 1930. Jones completed what would be considered a calendar Grand Slam in 1930 by winning the two Amateur Tournaments along with the U.S. Open and Open Championship, before he would co-found the Masters Tournament and before the PGA Championship was declared a major championship. Most would put Bobby Jones among the best golfers ever to play with his 13 Major victories. After retiring from professional golf in 1930, Jones shifted his focus to improving the game and would help design Augusta National Golf Club, which would soon become host of the Masters. This vintage signature of Bobby Jones is a great addition to any serious golf collection.
