Robert T. Jones Jr. Vintage Signed & Dated 1931 Swing Photo - Full Signature Framed
The star power of Robert T. Jones Jr. is quite easily summed up, he is the Babe Ruth of golf. With that in mind, we offer the finest known image of Bobby Jones which has been spectacularly signed and dated in his hand Feb. 9, 1931. This penning comes a mere months after Jones' completed his historic grand slam season in 1930 when he won the US Amateur and Open Championships, as well as the British Amateur and Open Championships. OK, but why does this picture merit finest known status? Simply it presents Jones at the height of his career surrounded by adoring fans with a full length review of his legendary swing virtually at the point of impact with golf ball. This photo takes your breath away. Now for the signature itself. Near perfect example of a Full signature Robert T. Jones autograph penned during his playing days. Autograph rates a 9 +, with no tremor in the signature which was common in his later life examples. So rich and bold is this fountain pen signature that it almost radiates off the photo, and, as such is deserving of the most elite golf museum or private memorabilia collections in the world. The framed piece measures 15 3/4" x 13 1/4".
James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed the signature and their full letter of authenticity #Z69218 will come with this lot.
