Red Cross "The Best Golf in the World" at Wykagyl CC Ticket Advertising Poster - New Rochelle, NY

The heading "The Best Golf In The World!" was accurately used on this WWII Red Cross golf tournament poster that's catchy design is reminiscent of a music festival's, headlined by a long list of time-period top golfers including Byron Nelson, Craig Wood, Gene Sarazen and Henry Picard. As much pertinent information is included as possible, using the colors green, black of course red on the white poster. While the majority of major tournament golf was suspended for the war, many of the golfers participated in as many exhibitions as possible that contributed to war relief funds. Series tickets were being sold for $7.50, as advertised on the poster. "Entire Proceeds to the Red Cross." This poster was originally folded for distribution and later tastefully framed as if to not take away from the piece itself. A letter of from PGA Historian Bob Denney will accompany this lot.
