Rare Bobby Jones & Both 1947 Ryder Cup Teams Signed Adjustable Seat
Portland Golf Club unrolled the red carpet to welcome Bobby Jones and Bob Hope as honored guests to the 1947 Ryder Cup in addition to both teams that week - each A-lister adding their name to what was deemed the sign-in sheet seat. The top side includes Bobby Jones and Bob Hope, with the bottom side lined and notated to feature each side of the biennial matches isle. Craig Wood, Harold McSpaden, Walter Hagen (x2), Sam Snead (x2), Byron Nelson, Bob Hope, Johnny Goodman, Jimmy Demaret, Captain Ben Hogan, Herman Keiser, Ed Oliver, Herman Barron, Lloyd Mangrum, Lew Worsham, and Dutch Harrison. British Team: Captain Henry Cotton, Jimmy Adams, Fred Daly, Max Faulkner, Eric Green, Reg Home, Sam King, Arthur Lees, Dai Rees, and Charlie Ward. The gravity of the honor to represent their country in golf was not lost on even the brightest of stars. Ben Hogan was quoted as saying the following to Ed Dudley after Dudley chose him as a member of the 1947 US Ryder Cup Team, "I am extremely happy of this award, and I know that it will mean even more to me in the years to come." James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.

AUCTION CLOSING RULES:
Place your bids NOW. The auction will close beginning at 10:00pm EDT Sunday, April 9th. When placing your INITIAL bid in the auction, you must agree to the terms BEFORE confirming your bid. Each lot has its own 30 minute countdown clock during extended bidding. The clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!
1. Place your initial bids BEFORE 10pm ET in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you may bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. Lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 10pm ET
Extended bidding starts at 10pm ET, and each lot will begin closing with its own 30-minute countdown timer. Lots without a bid placed during extended bidding will close at 10:30pm ET. We recommend you place your maximum bid(s) prior to that time. Thank you
