Peter Oosterhuis' 1973 Masters Tournament Eagle Hole No. 2 Crystal Steuben Glass
Along with other traditions such as the Crystal Vase for the low score of the day, Hole-In-One, and a Double Eagle; the Steuben Crystal Highball Glasses are given to a competitor who succeeds in scoring an eagle on any one of the holes at Augusta National during the Masters Tournament. This tradition dates to the 1960 tournament, when the Augusta National presented these glasses of achievement for the first time. Over The Golf Auction's ten years of business we have only had a handful of these highly collectible awards. Offered here for consideration is Peter Oosterhuis' crystal highball glass in near mint condition, with all etchings on glass well preserved, in similar fashion to the day it was presented at the 1973 Masters Tournament. Oosterhuis made an eagle in '73 on the 2nd hole at Augusta on his way to tying for 3rd place in the tournament. It measures approx 6 1/2" tall. As a companion piece, the most recent Masters Eagle crystal award was offered in our 2019 March Auction and sold for $1,852.
