Payne Stewart's Winning Tournament Used Wilson 'The Whale' Driver - Bill Parcells Provenance
The provenance letter from Bill Parcells reads as follows:
In 1985, I was introduced to Payne Stewart by our mutual sports agent, Robert Fraley. Both Payne and Bob Fraley died in the tragic Learjet accident on October 25, 1999.
In 1991, Payne gave me the Wilson "The Whale" model driver which he played in winning the 1989 MCI HEritage Classic at Harbour Town Golf Links, Hilton Head, South Carolina. "The Whale" diver clubhead and shaft were custom made for Payne by Wilson and no markings except those on the crown and sole plate of the club head. The grip is original.
I am pleased to present this club to you for your collection.
