PGA Grand Slam Of Golf "Champion Of Champions" Crystal Touring Trophy - Tiger 7-Time Winner

Taking into account the purpose and significance of touring PGA trophies, carried in a case, handled with gloves and stored in a museum or a dark room behind lock and key is the common procedure that the host association practices with their prized possessions. Because of this diligent handling and the fact that they will be in use a year later these trophies are either avaliable for public consumption on television coverage or through glass after admission. This lot contains THE PGA Grand Slam Of Golf "Champion Of Champions" Touring Trophy complete with FIVE cut Crystals. This trophy on presentation alone is impressive, compound that intrigue by many times over when considering the likes of Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and others held this trophy in their hands to take pictures after their year-end victory in Hawaii, wrapping up a major winning PGA Tour year. Simply put, Tiger Woods held this specific trophy on seven different occasions.

First Presented In 1992, Winners Include Tiger Woods (7), Phil Mickelson, Ben Crenshaw and Greg Norman (2). With (5) Crystals, One For Each Major Championship, 27" H x 16" Square, Good Condition, with multiple small chips out of the crystal points and base as seen in the photos. Also missing are two of the broadside plates, with only The Masters and The OPEN remaining intact. The final picture is Tiger Woods kneeling next to the trophy for reference purposes. Note: The PGA Grand Slam, only open to the major winners, was first contested in 1979 and won by Masters winner Gary Player. It was discontinued after 2014. The sizable trophy weighs 44.9 lbs., with the crystal accounting for 25 of those lbs. A letter of from PGA Historian Bob Denney will accompany this lot.
