Dwight Eisenhower's Famous Painting of Bobby Jones - Original Print with Letter
The United States Golf Association and the Professional Golfers Association in December 1970 joined in a nationwide project which was known as "Golf's Tribute to Ike." With Robert Tyre "Bobby" Jones as honorary chairman its purpose was to raise funds for two of the late presidents charities-Eisenhower College and Eisenhower Medical Center. Contributors received a special bag tag with Ike's picture and a reproduction 18" x 15 1/4" of an Ike's portrait in color showing Bobby Jones at the height of his golf career which the President gifted to Bobby Jones in March of 1953. The fundraiser ran through October 14, 1971. Offered in vintage frame is one of the sought after prints which was gifted to contributors. This print has become a highly desired modern golf print. What adds immensely to this offering is the second item which is the original thank you not depicting President Eisenhower which was sent along to contributors and is seldom seen.
