Original Oil on Panel Donald Ross Painting by Artist Robert Fletcher - Framed
Known as the first U.S. architect to really design courses; Ross worked on over 500 in the United States. He came to Pinehurst in 1901 and was based there till his death in 1948. While there he designed and built Pinehurst Nos. 2, 3, and 4 courses. He also designed masterpieces Oakland Hills, Seminole, Inverness, Scioto and Oak Hill. Here is a masterpiece of Donald Ross himself, the skilled Robert Fletcher's original oil painting featuring the course architect with a club in one hand and the other in his pants pocket. Ross' signature glasses and cap are depicted flawlessly, details that were given attention by Fletcher.
Renown golf industry artist Robert Fletcher has dedicated nearly 40 years to refining his craft in the fine arts. His works are exhibited on the historic grounds of Cherry Hills and Colorado Golf Club in bronze busts, prior to participating as a lead artist in the recent Golf Heritage Society Meeting art workshop. Robert has a unique style, with a mix of realism and and shadowing resulting in an almost a mythic result. A signed certificate of authenticity by artist Robert Fletcher comes with this lot. Painting framed to 9" x 18"

AUCTION CLOSING RULES:
Place your bids NOW as this auction will close beginning at 10:00pm EDT Sunday, February 5th. When placing your INITIAL bid in the auction, you must agree to the terms BEFORE confirming your bid. Each lot will have its own 30 minute countdown clock during extended bidding. The clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!
1. Place your initial bids BEFORE 10pm ET to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you may bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. Lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 10pm ET
Extended bidding starts at 10pm ET, and each lot will begin closing with its own 30-minute countdown timer. Lots without a bid during extended bidding will close at 10:30pm ET. We recommend you place your maximum bid(s) prior to that time. Thank you
