Original Bobby Jones Tee Off Photo at 1926 Open Championship - Royal Lytham & St. Annes
Held in England at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club, the 1926 Open Championship offered patrons the opportunity to see American amateur golfer Bobby Jones become the 'Champion Golfer of the Year' for the first time. Some took advantage of those circumstances more than others. Here is an original 2 5/8" x 4 1/2" that was taken of Jones teeing off from a patron sitting at ground level. "R. J. Jones U.S.A. and H. Gapper" is printed in pencil on the reverse. Capturing history nearly 100 years ago was a different process than it is today, and much more impressive.
AUCTION CLOSING RULES:
This auction will end at 9:00pm EST Sunday, July 21st with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval)
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
