One of a Kind Augusta National Clubhouse Wedgwood Ltd Ed Sample Plate
Here we have a one of a kind limited edition sample plate made by Wedgwood of the Augusta National Golf Club clubhouse. The clubhouse is depicted in black and white surrounded by emerald green and gold gilt. The markings on the back show the plate it made of fine bone china by Wedgwood of England and is the sample of a limited edition series.
The Augusta National clubhouse is believed to be the first concrete house built in the South. It was built in 1854 as the home of Dennis Redmond, owner of the indigo plantation that came before Fruitlands Nursery. It is the most famous clubhouse in golf and signifies the tradition and grandeur associated with ANGC and the Masters.
Josiah Wedgwood founded his company in 1759 and designed a tea and coffee service for Queen Charlotte, earning him the title of "Potter to Her Majesty." His company still to this day makes fine and highly collectible glasswares.
This one of a kind piece will make a terrific gift for the Augusta National or Masters fanatic and shine brightly in any collection.
