| Here we have the Finest Dozen Ocobo Gutta Percha golf balls known to exist. These golf balls are "straight off the shelf" and are still wrapped in the original tissue paper and still sitting in the original box. Balls are perfect with the cream colored paint still as perfect as the day the balls were released. Twelve Ocobo Gutta Percha balls with very few black spots anywhere to be found are sitting in the original box (EX condition)they were placed in during the 1890's.This is an unimprovable example of one of the most popular Gutta Percha balls ever released. A single example of this ball has sold for over $600 in auction in far lesser condition. Oh by the way did we mention they come with the original tissue and BOX! This is so important to state thought it needed to be said again. This lot would make a great investment on the break of the dozen for an entrepreneur. This concept of breaking the dozen is also attractive to a collector who needs high powered trades to fill in their collection. And finally few collectors can potentially consider buying this remarkable dozen for their collection. But for those who can consider such a commitment. These artifacts from the infancy of the game represent a remarkable and unique opportunity. This lot comes from the Original estate of John Arthur Brown. Brown was the president of Pine Valley Golf club from 1928 until his death in 1977. His collection was amassed over decades of collecting only the best of the best in golf memorabilia. Enjoy this great piece of golf memorabilia from a legendary club administrator, representing the USA's most famed course.
