Oakland Hills Ryder Cup Shadowboxed Emblem and Captain's with Cup Picture
Our consignor the former head of the Michigan PGA received this deluxe framed shadowbox measuring 21 1/4" x 13" x 2" for his behind-the-scenes work in staging the 2004 35th Ryder Cup matches which were contested in Michigan at Oakland Hills Country Club. This award was crafted by PGA partner Heritage Creations(as recognized on the reverse of shadowbox). The dual opening shadow box of the finest craftsmanship contains the official Ryder Cup logo of the matches in one opening, and a second opening contains the official photograph of team captains Bernard Langer of Team Europe and Hal Sutton of The United States Team. It is not known if this is a one-of-a-kind item, or one of a select few which were presented to the highest of ranking officials. What is known is that our winning bidder on this lot will have a statement piece to place on a wall of importance. An item which is certin to be the first item viewed when a visitor reviews your collection. I know it was that way for me when I visited our consignors office. I just had to have this item for The Golf Auctions bidders to battle over.
