Nelson, Sarazen, & de Witt Signed Scorecards with 'Shell's Wonderful World of Golf' Book
Shell's Wonderful World of Golf was a popular television show pitting mostly retired, well-known professional golfers in made for television matches at exotic locations around the world. Offered here is a library copy of the 2003 159 pp. HB book, Gene Sarazen and Shell's Wonderful World of Golf, summarizing the start of the series hosted by Gene Sarazen and Jimmy Demaret. Included are scorecards from the match held at Haagsche Golf en Country Club in June, 1962 with HOF member Byron Nelson squaring off against the local pro in Garard De Witt. There are scorecards signed by Gene Sarazen on 6/11/62 (Note how the Danes record their dates), Byron Nelson on 6/10, and Garrard de Witt on 6/11/62. Finally there is a match scorecard played on the 13th and 14th of June, 1962 showing that the local po outclassed Byron Nelson by a score of 72 and 80. Which is why you may have never seen this even televised. Note that the par has changed from 73 to 72 for the match. Amazing items that have never surfaced in the collecting world. Place your bids now as this auction will close LOT BY LOT beginning at 9:00pm ET Sunday, July 18th. When placing INITIAL bid, you must agree to the terms BEFORE confirming your bid. All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will be eligible for the extended bidding period. Each lot will have its OWN COUNTDOWN CLOCK set for a 30-minute interval starting at 9pm ET. The clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm ET
4. All lots will begin closing on a LOT BY LOT basis at 9pm ET
