Mickey Wright Signed 1958 Women's US National Open Championship Official Program
On the Mount Rushmore of ladies golfers you will see the face of Mickey Wright prominently positioned in the middle. Mickey Wright dominated the LPGA tour in the late 1950's and 1960's. This domination was so complete that the Associated Press named her the Female Athlete of the Year in both 1963 and 1964. The World Golf Hall of Famer notched the Women's career grand slam on the way to her 13 Major titles (second all-time to Patty Berg). Ben Hogan would go on to publicly say that she had the best golf swing he had ever seen. The site of Mickey Wright's first US Open title was at Forest Lake Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. By beating 2x champ Louise Suggs by 5 strokes, she claimed the 2nd of the 13 Major Titles won throughout her illustrious career. Program is in good condition with very minimal wear in front top left spine. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity will come with this lot.
