Southern Hills 89th PGA Championship Money Clip
With original box in mint condition comes this 2007 money clip which was issued to Mark Brooks as a keepsake from the PGA of America. Money Clips were often issued to contestants in their goody bags at registration. This keepsake has been kept in the Brooks collection for many years until now, when they have decided to auction off their collection.. Brooks would fall short this year of the success he had in 1996 when he claimed the title. In 2007 it was all Tiger Woods at the PGA paced by his Friday round of 63, which tied the lowest ever shot in a round at a Major. He made this fast start hold up for his fourth PGA Championship and 13th career Major win.
We at The Golf Auction are proud to have the opportunity to represent Mark and Cynthia Brooks in the auctioning of items from their collection of golf books, art work and mementos assembled over a PGA career which began in 1983 and has encompassed a remarkable 799 career PGA tournaments. This great run of golf at its highest level has been highlighted by seven PGA Tour wins, his play as a victorious member of the 1996 United States Presidents Cup team, and of course his Major triumph at the 1996 PGA Championship.
