McEwan Long Nose Play Club
This McEwan Long Nose play club is in good condition with the Original whipping intact. The only drawback is a slight crack across the Ram's horn and the sheep's skin grip is gone. The Underlisting is still intact and the McEwan stamp on the crown is very bold and displays perfectly. Club measures 41 inches in length.The McEwan's were a legendary family of six club makers with this long nose most likely fashioned by Douglas(1809-1886) or Peter(1834-1895).In this time period they were operating their shop at Musselburgh. This would be a great addition to any collection. This lot comes from the Original estate of John Arthur Brown. Brown was the president of Pine Valley Golf club from 1928 until his death in 1977. His collection was amassed over decades of collecting only the best of the best in golf memorabilia. Enjoy this great piece of golf memorabilia from a legendary club administrator, representing the USA's most famed course.
