Actual Tour Championship scorecard of Phil Mickelson from the Sunday, November 1, 1998 fourth and final round of the event. Phil would shoot 70 that day completing the four day event in 286. His card that day has been completely scored in the hand of his playing partner Payne Stewart.
Who can forget the memorable next time they were hooked up on a Sunday in the Fathers Day final round of the 1999 U.S. Open with Payne Stewart sinking the putt on the 18th hole at Pinehurst to defeat Phil Mickelson, then Payne speaking to Phil about the upcoming birth of his first child, and how great a Father Phil was going to be. One of the top moment's in U.S. Open History.
In this lot, we have the scorecard that Payne Stewart carried as scorer for Phil Mickelson in the last round of his career at the Tour Championship, tragically cut short in the September 1999 plane crash just prior to the next Tour Championship. Very unigue piece of game used memorabilia. James Spence Authentication provides their letter of authenticity for the pencil signatures of Phil Mickelson and Payne Stewart which appear on this scorecard.
