Payne Stewart Signed 1998 Western Open Tournament Used Scorecard
Payne Stewart was one of the most popular golfers in the 1990's decade. The combination of his energetic personality and his flashy wardrobe of ivy caps and plus fours or knickerbockers drew the fans in. Stewart won the 1999 US Open, his 3rd Major, just 4 short months before his untimely death in a plane crash in South Dakota at the age of 42. In 2001 he was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame. Here is a used scorecard from the 1998 Western Open Tournament, in which Stewart carried, marked and signed in pencil after the round. Donnie Hammond was the competitor and playing partner during the 3rd round of the Western Open Tournament held at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club on June 27, 1998, a year prior to Stewart's tragic accident. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authentication comes with this lot.

All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval). 2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
