1955 Walker Cup Team Photo - Don Cherry Collection
Played in the birthplace of golf the Old Course in St. Andrews, Scotland, the United States team won the contest by a 10 to 2 margin. Included in this picture is of course accomplished amateur golfer and singer Don Cherry, as well as US team notables Billy Joe Patton and World Golf Hall of Famer and playing captain William C. Campbell. This black and white photo exhibits the team comradery and exuberance the US amateur golfers had in their visit to St Andrews and their dominant performance in the 1955 Walker Cup. There are pen identifiers on the reverse, as well as the P.A. Reuter Photos Ltd. stamp. The corners contain creases or paper loss. 8 1/2" x 10."
