1935 PGA Championship at Twin Hills GC Program - Johnny Revolta Winner

The 1935 PGA Championship program is a difficult year to obtain, as further evidence of this The Golf Auction has only offered it in one other instance. As was the case back in 1935, the PGA Championship was a match play event. Johnny Revolta won his only major title, defeating Tommy Armour 5 & 4. The amount of golf played over so few days is astounding by today's professional standards. The match play format at the PGA Championship in 1935 called for 12 rounds (216 holes) to be played in six days. This cover is adorned by a group picture of the United States Ryder Cup team captained by Walter Hagen. This team included the likes of Horton Smith, Gene Sarazen (that years' Masters Tournament winner), Craig Wood, Henry Picard and tournament champion Johnny Revolta. The program is in good condition, with only slight cover wear. A letter of from PGA Historian Bob Denney will accompany this lot.
