Vintage Healthways Hollywood Strokmaster Golf Score Keeper with Original Box - Crist Collection
Coming in its original box with vibrant graphics, this Vintage Healthways Hollywood Strokmaster Golf Score Keeper was an alternative to the traditional pencil and scorecard. This score keeper could be utilized on a 9 hole basis and counted up to ten strokes on each. The fully functional strokmaster has a U.S. Patent date of 1946, this scorer also has it's original box which has 18 facsimile signatures of stars from 1940's Hollywood, California. The signatures include Larry Crabbe, Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Cecil B. DeMille, Jack Benny, Dorothy Lamour, Fred MacMurray, Henry Fonda, Gary Cooper, George Raft, Ray Milland, Akim Tamiroff, Paulette Goddard, Randolf Scott, Ronald Colman, Mary Boland, Lloyd Nolan and Cary Grant. The device reads, in part, "U. S. Pat. 2,402,525 (issued in 1946) Golf Score Keeper. "The Modern Golf Score Keeper Endorsed By The Stars"
The Lee Crist Collection:
“Mr. Tee” Lee Crist was affectionately known around the Golf Heritage Society and the golf collecting world. This nickname was well earned as Crist was known for archiving and curating one of the most extensive and complete golf tee collections over many decades. He had an extraordinary fascination with the tee is its many shapes, colors, sizes and mediums. If there was a way to prop a golf ball up Lee Crist had an example of the mechanism.
The Golf Heritage Society honored the late Lee Crist in its inaugural Hall of Fame class this year at its annual meeting. To accept the award was his wife Barbara and son Sam. During his time collecting he was recognized and featured in numerous publications. The Golf Auction is proud to offer the esteemed collection of an inaugural Golf Heritage Society Hall of Fame member.
