Gene Sarazen Fountain Pen Period Signature

Complete with an ink blotch, here is a true period signature from the first member to enter the Career Grand Slam Club, Gene Sarazen. With a flair for the dramatics, as shown in The 1935 Masters tournament when he holed a 247 yard double eagle shot on the 17th hole to force a playoff, this signature has a flair of its own. Done with fountain pen on the reverse of a letter, Sarazen penned his name with impressive flow and style. The great majority of Sarazen signatures that are found were done in the last twenty years of his life, adding appeal to this fine example. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.
