1913 Francis Ouimet Postcard Sent by His Mother Mary Ellen w/ "Clyde St" by Brookline CC Mention
Affixed with a 1 cent postage stamp, this 1913 postcard features a hand captioned image of Francis Ouimet and Jerome Travers dueling on the front side. The sender of this postcard happened to be Francis Ouimet's own mother, Mary Ellen or M E Ouimet. It should be noted that this postcard was sent just months after Ouimet won the 1913 US Open. There is mention by Mary Ellen of "Clyde St," which is located adjacent to the 17th green of The Country club in Brookline, Massachusetts. The full message handwritten in pencil by Mary Ellen Ouimet is a personal one to friend Dean Sutcliffe:
"My Dear Dean tell ma that Mary is still on Clyde St. Hope to see you soon. Love to Pa & Young and the two girls. I thought you would like this. ME Ouimet"
It is stamped Brookline Nov 3 1913 as well. The Image on the front is hand dated September 26, 1913. This is a one of a kind piece with impressive content and significance, all centered around recent US Open winner Francis Ouimet.

All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval)
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
