Clifford Roberts Signed (Initialed) Letter to Charles Price on ANGC Stationary - Nov 19, 1964 JSA ALOA
On time-period Augusta National Golf Club headed paper, Clifford Roberts writes a letter to Charley Price about receiving "The American Golfer. Clifford Roberts Is a co-founded the storied Augusta National Golf Club with accomplished golfer Bobby Jones in 1933. Roberts was a well respected Wall-Street investment banker for the entirety of his career. Roberts, along with Bobby Jones, was good friends with United States President Dwight D. Eisenhower, resulting in Eisenhower using the Augusta National Golf Club as his retreat. Clifford Roberts passed away in 1977, making his signature fairly difficult to obtain. The letter has slightly worn around the edges over the years.
James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed the signature and their auction letter of authenticity will come with this lot.
AUCTION CLOSING RULES:
This auction will end at 9:00pm EST Sunday, July 21st with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval)
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
