Paul Lawrie & Jean van de Velde Signed 1999 Open Championship Carnoustie Flags JSA ALOA
This lot features Paul Lawrie and Jean van de Velde signed 1999 Open Championship at Carnoustie flags in excellent condition. Carnoustie has hosted seven Open Championships, and the course will host its next in July 2018. Down ten strokes coming into Sunday's round, Lawrie's win was aided by Jean van de Velde's collapse on the final hole, where he shot a triple-bogey to force a three-way playoff between himself, Lawrie, and Justin Leonard. Lawrie won the playoff in four holes. Paul Lawrie won his lone major championship at the 1999 Open by staging the biggest final round comeback in major championship history. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed the signature and their auction letter of authenticity will come with this lot.
AUCTION CLOSING RULES:
This auction will end at 9:00pm EST Sunday, July 21st with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval)
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
