Ed Sullivan Entertainer Signed Cut with Original Paramount Hal A. McAlpin Photo
Famous for being creator and host of his own show, Ed Sullivan was on American television sets nightly from 1948 until 1971. Ed was a fan of the game as well as the people that played it, once being quoted telling Ben Hogan that “I don't know of any American story that is so appealing as your own.…I was thinking to my-self what a wonderful career a former Texas caddy had carved out for himself and how much I'd enjoy telling it to the country on "Toast of the Town,” prior to doing a one-hour special on Ben Hogan’s life. This Paramount Hal McAlpin photo of him measures 8" x 10" and Ed’s cut signature is 4 1/2" x 1 5/8." James Spence Authentication (JSA)has reviewed this signature, and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.
AUCTION CLOSING RULES:
This auction will end at 9:00pm EST Sunday, May 19th, with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval)
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
