Frank Sinatra Signed February 17, 1976 Note to Doug Sanders & Scotty
It makes a lot of sense that the "Peacock of the fairways," Doug Sanders was friends with one of the largest celebrities of his own time Frank Sinatra. In this note Frank Sinatra thanks Doug Sanders for a vase that Sanders gifted to him and joked about filling it with Jack Daniels whiskey. Sinatra was one of the best selling musical artists of all time, selling in excess of 150 million records worldwide. Frank Sinatra, or Francis as he penned his name here, was host of a PGA Tour stop in Palm Springs, CA in 1963. Using the template of the Bing Crosby National PGA event held yearly at Pebble Beach, The Frank Sinatra Invitational held at Palm Springs was intended to be a yearly PGA event drawing top professional golfers and A-list Hollywood stars together. This event only lasted the one year. The four day tournament was followed by a Sinatra gala on the fifth day. The 'FS' letterhead paper is signed By Frank Sinatra in blue ink, with his formal name. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed the signature and their auction letter of authenticity will come with this lot.
