"This is a limited edition book intended for a select group of special people. Not only has this volume and slip case been individually handcrafted of the finest materials possible, this may be the first book in the past 100 years that is intended to revive a centuries old practice called "fore edge painting."
This excerpt lies on the first page of the book and gives the reader a forewarning about the intense nature of the subject matter. The author, Dr. Michael J. Hurdzan, is one of America's most respected golf course designers in the industry. His firm is located in Columbus, OH and is responsible for designing over 150 new courses not only in North America, but internationally as well. It should be noted that Dr. Hurdzan is also author of the well-known monograph 'Evolution of the Modern Green.' In 1996 he decided it was time to put some of his trade secrets and unique strategy that has brought his firm great success over the years to paper. Aside from designing, Dr. Michael J. Hurdzan spent 23 years in command of the Special Forces, Infantry and Psychological Operations units in the United States Army Special Reserve program. Included with a slipcover, this book is nearly 400 pages and is highly sought after in the golf course design community.
AUCTION CLOSING RULES:
This auction will end at 9:00pm EST Sunday, April 14th, with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval)
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
