National Golf Day Badges - 1958, 1961, 1962 and 1955 "I Beat Ed Furgol"
Back in 1952 the PGA founded National Golf Day, which was simply a day to celebrate the great game of golf. Each year the talented few that posted a score bettering the tour pro on National Golf Day receive a small medal coin and accompanying coin holder for their achievement. Here are four examples of those medals that were available to the public, if you played well enough to earn them. The years 1958, 1961 and 1962 measure 1" diameter and the 1955 "I Beat Ed Furgol" medal is 1 1/4."
