President Dwight D. Eisenhower Plaid Plus Fours - Very Good Condition with Minor Wear

World Golf Hall of Fame member Dwight Eisenhower famously painted his rendition of a 1952 Thomas E. Stephens portrait in color of Bobby Jones. Ike then publicly gifted that painting to close personal friend Bobby Jones in March of 1953. Dwight was instrumental to Augusta National Golf Club and golf in general during his life. The United States Golf Association and the Professional Golfers Association in December 1970 joined in a nationwide project which was known as "Golf's Tribute to Ike." With close friend Robert Tyre "Bobby" Jones as honorary chairman its purpose was to raise funds for two of the late presidents charities-Eisenhower College and Eisenhower Medical Center. Owning the titles war hero and 34th President of the United States sure makes up in a hurry for a golf game that let's say was pedestrian. With difference to Bobby Jones, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and a host of other captains of industry the most famous member of the Augusta National is none other then Dwight D. Eisenhower. But if you think that you are smitten with the golf bug you are still most likely no match for the love affair that Ike had with the game. Here are the President's plaid plus four golf pants with Tag Number #2083. While he might have never made a birdie score while wearing these, they probably have some stories to tell. The pants have been preserved well and show only minor wear after all of these years. This relic of competition at golfs highest level comes directly from the PGA where it has resided for over 75 years. From the collection of PGA REACH, with a certificate of authenticity accompanying this lot.

This auction will end at 9:00pm EST Sunday, April 14th, with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval)

1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
