Horton Smith's 1933 International Four Ball Winners Plaque with Paul Runyan - Miami CC
From 1924 until 1954 the Miami International Four-Ball tournament was a stop for the top PGA Tour golfers. In 1933 Horton Smith and his partner Paul Runyan outlasted 15 other teams to receive the winner's plaque. That same winner's plaque is what you see here. The plaque has a very detailed engraving of the Miami Country Club 18th green and clubhouse, as well as the tournament name, date and recipients of the award. Horton Smith's name is synonymous with the Masters and Augusta National, as he won the first and third installments of the tournament. The Maynard Page Trophy measures 10" x 14" and is in fine condition, slightly tarnished.This relic of competition at golfs highest level comes directly from the PGA where it has resided for over 75 years. AUCTION CLOSING RULES:
This auction will end at 9:00pm EST Sunday, April 14th, with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval)
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
