Golf Journal Magazines Signed by Player, Graham, Irwin, & Moody
This lot features four USGA Golf Journals, each featuring that years US Open champion. In 1965, Gary Players clinched the US Open which made him the first non-American to win all four major championships. Player signs the front of his issue in with crisp, smooth strokes of black ink. Lou Graham got the cover of the August 1975 issue by capturing his US Open victory by beating John Mahaffey by two strokes in a playoff. The US Open was played at the Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois that year. Hale Irwin made history and the cover of Golf Journal in 1990. He became the oldest US Open champion at the age of 45. Irwin was one of the worlds leading golfers during the mid 70's to mid 80's. The last in this we have magazine we have in this lot features Orville Moody. Moody won the 1969 U.S. Open, and was the last champion in the 20th century to win through local and sectional qualifying. All magazines are in original condition
James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed the signature and their auction letter of authenticity will come with this lot.
