Four Golf Clubs - Nicoll Iron, Kro-Flite Wright & Ditson Iron, Con Murphy Iron, & W&D Putter

George Nicoll Warranted Hand Forged Iron - Jack Klein Shaft Stamp - George Nicoll was a blacksmith by trade, and in the 1880s he started making hand forged irons. Well known golfers such as Henry Cotton, Brian Huggett, Dai Rees, and Vivien Saunders used his clubs. The Nicoll family distributed the clubs worldwide until 1982, owned now by St Andrews Golf Company. Offered here is a Nicoll iron with a Jack Klein shaft stamp. It measures 40" to the heel. The head shows some rusting and the whipping is loose, please see photographs.

Spalding Kro-Flite Wright & Ditson Left-Handed Iron - No matter what brand of club you pull from your bag, you owe some thanks to one company--Spalding. At the turn of the 20th Century, golf had stirred mild interest in the United States, and A.G. Spalding & Brothers sporting goods saw an opportunity. The company was already selling golf balls when, in 1905, it became the first in America to offer its own brand of golf clubs. Wright & Ditson was founded by baseball Hall of Famer George Wright and his business partner Henry Ditson in 1871 and produced sporting goods of all kinds, including golf clubs and balls. George Wright was responsible for bringing some of the most well known names in golf to the US around the turn of the century, convincing A. H. Findlay to come to the US and put his artistic touch to a line of clubs for Wright & Ditson, as well as playing a part in the Henry Vardon exhibition in 1900. Wright was also able to convince Albert Goodwill Spalding to leave his office work and venture into sporting goods. A Kro-Flite left handed iron is offered here for bidders. The grip shows some wear and the iron measures 40" to the heel.

Con Murphy Superfine Ladies 15 Degree Iron - Offered here is a Con Murphy 15 degree ladies iron. It measures 37" to the heel. The ladies iron shows some wear to the head and grip, though still in good condition.

Wright & Ditson Accurate St. Andrews Putter - Wright & Ditson was founded by baseball Hall of Famer George Wright and his business partner Henry Ditson in 1871 and produced sporting goods of all kinds, including golf clubs and balls. The Wright & Ditson St. Andrews putter offered here measures 40" to the heel. It comes in good condition, showing some rust to the head.
