Abe Mitchell Signed Cut with 'Sandwich 1922' Notation
Offered here is a cut signed in beautiful fountain pen by Abe Mitchell, along with the notation "Sandwich 1922." Abe Mitchell was a renowned British golfer, finishing in the top 10 of the Open Championship 8 times. Mitchell was the personal instructor of Samuel Ryder, of Ryder Cup fame, and thus the figure atop the Ryder Cup trophies is modeled after Mitchell. The Open Championship in 1922 was held at Royal St. George's in Sandwich, England, presumably where this signature was obtained.
James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed the signature and their auction letter of authenticity will come with this lot.
