1945 The Star Tournament at Royal Mid-Surrey Golf Club Competitor Badge


John Shoesmith winner. The Star Tournament was a professional golf tournament played in England and sponsored by The Star, a London evening newspaper. It was held from 1945 to 1947, and the total prize money was £1,500. The 1945 event involved 36 holes of stroke play over two days. The leading 16 then played knockout matchplay over the next two days. The ticket is 2" in diameter.
