Bobby Jones Signed ("10") 1930 Currier & Ives St. Andrews to HOFer Charles Blair MacDonald
Original limited edition lithograph 1930 Bobby Jones signed Currier & Ives print. Titled "Robert Tyre Jones Jr. Winning the British Open Golf Championship". First edition of 999 prints published and copyrighted by Currier & Ives, Inc., 1930. This exceptional piece depicting Bobby Jones sinking the winning putt in the 1927 British Open at St. Andrews carries a full signature from Robert T. Jones Jr. which is spectacular alone, presenting with perfect formation and meriting no other grade but a "10" for its brilliance. What takes this highly sought after item to the next level is that the fountain pen signature comes inscribed and autographed by Bobby Jones to none other than fellow golf hall of famer Charles Blair MacDonald. When it comes to an influential hall of fame resume MacDonald had all the facets of the game covered. Tutored by Old Tom Morris, Charles began playing golf matches with prominent golfers of the day on the Old Course at St. Andrews, including Young Tom Morris. As a player he won the first United States Amateur in 1895 by the match play score of 12&11 (which is still the record winning margin to this day). With his course design work that includes Chicago Golf Club and the National Golf Links, MacDonald earned the title of "Father of American Golf Architecture". Finally as a pioneer of golf in the Americas this visionary became a driving force in the founding of the U.S.G.A.

Print is laid down on framing matte, and is deluxe framed with U.V. protected glass. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature of Bobby Jones, and their full letter of authenticity will come with this item. Print measures 16 1/2" x 11 3/8", framed overall size is 27" x 21". This spectacular item comes sourced from the family of Charles Blair MacDonald having been sold in the estate auction of Corinne B. Grace (who was married to Michael Grace II, great grandson of C.B. MacDonald).
