1935 A.P. Wire Photo of Craig Wood, Gene Sarazen, & Grantland Rice at Masters Tournament

One of the most memorable shots in the history of sport was launched by Gene Sarazen to Augusta Nationals' 15th green at the 1935 Masters Tournament. His second shot from the fairway, a 235 yarder on the par 5, found the hole for a double-eagle, electrifying to all who witnessed it. The "shot heard 'round the world" tied Sarazen and Wood and forced a playoff, where Sarazen claimed the 2nd ever Masters title. The photo offered here shows Sarazen, Wood, and the famed sportswriter Grantland Rice at the Masters Tournament.
