Early 1900's Royal Doulton Golf Vessel "Is A Caddie Always Necessary?"

Here we have a Royal Doulton Gibson vase that measures 5 1/8" x 1 1/2" x 3 3/4" and is in great condition. Charles Dana Gibson created the "Gibson Girl," the standard of independence and beauty at the turn of the century. This vase features the illustrations "Is a Caddie Always Necessary?" and "From 10 A.M. to 6.45 this dog has been kept out. Where is the S. P. C. A.?"
The Doulton family started making stoneware goods (tableware, pipes, and sanitary fittings) in 1815, later enlisting local artists and art students to design the incredibly popular pieces. Doulton was granted the Royal Warrant in 1901 by King Edward VII, and continues to make fine glassware to this day, now a part of the Waterford Wedgwood family.
