Victor Ghezzi Pencil Signed Cut
Winner of the 1941 PGA Championship, defeating Byron Nelson after 38 holes in the finals. Unfortunately for Ghezzi, World War II was happening right in his prime, leaving the opportunities for more major victories to become scarce. A runner-up at the 1946 US Open was an exceptional performance for both he and Byron Nelson, as well as eventual winner Lloyd Mangrum. On Sunday there was a 18-hole playoff, which ended in a three-way tie, forcing an additional 18 hole playoff. Mangrum won that afternoon round by a single stroke over both Ghezzi and Nelson. Vic Ghezzi, selected for three Ryder Cup teams, would go on to win a total of 11 wins on tour and was inducted into the PGA of America's Hall of Fame in 1965. Ghezzi unfortunately passed away in 1976.Measuring 1" x 4", this cut signature is accompanied by an 8" x 10" black and white photo
