Jimmy Thomson Vintage Signed Cut
Jimmy Thomson was a top 1920's and 1930's PGA competitor regarded as the longest hitter of his day, he spent much of his time touring and giving exhibitions. His signature is offered here in the form of a 5 1/4" x 1 1/2" pencil cut, and is accompanied by a 8" x 10" black & white photo which was a promotional still shot for a sports short which included Thomson called "Mistakes In Golf". Overall preservation of photo is consistent with other stills and newsroom photos of the period, containing the usual assortment of handling wear, crop marks and corner creases which are indeed evident but do not overshadow the exceptional image of the longest hitting pro golfer of his day. James Spence Authentication (JSA) provides authenticity for signature in this lot.
