Turn of Century Pin/Nail String Art - Start of Western Golf Association 1899 - Framed
At the turn of the 1900's one of the most popular artistic forms of design was pin/nail string. It is most appropriate that the newly founded Western Golf Association would use this art form to depict their logo at the earliest days of the organization, which would offer so much to the golf community over the next decade plus. Founded in 1899, the Western Golf Association is one of the United States' oldest golf organizations. The WGA sponsors four prestigious golf tournaments: the Western Junior, the Western Amateur, the Hotel Fitness Championship and the BMW Championship, a FedEx Cup playoff event. Through its headquarters in Golf, Illinois the WGA has also administered the Chick Evans Scholarship Program for deserving caddies since its inception in 1930 through the Evans Scholars Foundation. This pin/nail and string art work measures 27 1/2" x 37 1/2" x 2 1/4", and presents what is thought to be a unique, one-of-a-kind, presentation from the earliest days of the Western Golf Association. Historical piece which is not to be missed.
