1948 US Open Lot - Program, Hogan with Trophy Photo, Course During Play Photo, and Bag Tag
This event was contested at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Ca. (a course that would soon become known as "Hogan's Alley", for Ben's dominance there). In the 1948 U.S. Open, Hogan captured his first of four Open titles with a two stroke win over Jimmy Demaret. This marked the second of Hogan's nine major wins. A wonderful addition to even the most detailed of Hogan collections. The cover of program is not connected to body, and has separation along spine except for 3" to the bottom. Slight water spots and one page is not connected on interior. Also there is a fold crease from left to right present on middle front and back. Hogan trophy photo is 8" x 10", course during play photo is 8 1/2" x 11". Bag tag measures a diameter of 3 1/2".
