R. Forgan & Son St. Andrews Baffy - Scotia Stamp on Head - Shaft Stamp


This lot features a Scotia club from Forgan and Sons that measures 39" from the bottom of the whipping to the end. Head stamp reads "R. Forgan & Son - St. Andrews"
Robert Forgan was the nephew of Fife clubmaker Hugh Philp. Robert joined Philip in the clubmaking business in the year 1852. Forgan had great skill in working with and identifying quality wood for club-making. Forgan took over the business and employed his younger brother James to assist after his Uncle's death. In 1863 Forgan was appointed as clubmaker to the Prince of Wales. Please see photos for condition.
