The Youth's Companion Oct. 9, 1913 Issue with Ouimet, Vardon, and Ray on Cover


This lot features an issue of Youth's Companion, the longest-running Children’s publication in US History. Publication began in 1827, and ran as a weekly publication until the issue of August 18, 1927. September, 1927 was the first Monthly issue. Last regular issue was published in September 1929 – absorbed by American Boy magazine with the October issue. This edition features a cover photo of Francis Ouimet, Harry Vardon, and Ted Ray competing in the 1913 US Open, in which Ouimet bested Vardon and Ray -1 in the playoff. Presents wear and crease on the cover.
