1906 Sterling Burrows Cup Won by Samuel Miles Hastings - Onwentsia Club

Samuel Miles Hastings was an outstanding golfer from Chicago, Illinois at the turn of the century. But Chicago at this time had many of the outstanding golfers as the area was on the forefront of the emerging golf scene in the United States with Boston, Philadelphia and Pinehurst to name a few. It was however not in golf that Hastings would make his largest impact in life, but rather as the director of IBM. The avid golfer surely was proud of this early life triumph on the links commemorated with trophy of accomplishment standing 12 3/4" tall and with a maximum width of 11 1/2" this sterling silver trophy presents in excellent condition. The Owentsia is a golf club in Lake Forest, Illinois. Front reads:
