1928 Croydon & District P.G. Alliance Championship Trophy Won by T.H. Cotton


This lot features a rarely seen sterling silver trophy that stands 5 1/4" tall with a maximum width of 5". The inscription indicating the winner T.H. Cotton is presumed to be Sir Thomas Henry Cotton, winner of three Open Championships and world famous golf course architect. This trophy comes some 6 years before Cotton would win the Open, making this piece that much more interesting. Inscriptions read as follows:
